Episode 1: To Follow Apollo, Part I

We learn about the early space missions that led up to the Apollo moon project in the first episode of “Space Quest with Dr. Jim” and meet two time-traveling robots, Piper and Vista!

After the Mercury and Gemini space missions taught us about how to live and work in space, Apollo took us to the moon. In this episode, we learn about Apollo 11, the first time the people landed on the moon in 1969!

One of Jupiter’s biggest moons is called Europa, and it’s completely covered with ice that floats on a huge ocean of saltwater. Is it possible that there might be life, way down low beneath the ice of Europa?

Tommy and Laura collect all of the robots left on the surface of Mars to take them back to the Mars Museum for display. We learn how Piper and Vista work together with their special sensors to find the old robots!

People use satellites to watch over the earth and keep track of the size of the ice caps and jungles. Sometimes the satellites stop working, so Tommy and Laura have to use their spaceships to fix one of them.

If kids want to explore space someday, they need to study math and science in school. In this story, we learn how Tommy and Laura became pilots and space explorers.
